Ensure Your Artist Website Doesn't Repel Customers Starting in July

Now is the time to ensure that your artist website serves securely.  If you've not yet done so, you're almost out of time.

All "serves securely" means is that the address of your website starts with "https://", instead of "http://" (without the "s").

If you don't ensure this is taken care of now, starting in July, Chrome, the most used browser in the world, will start loudly telling your customers that your site is "Not Secure."

Most people will not browse, much less purchase art work, from a website that is "Not Secure."

Here is how this will look in the user's browser bar:

I don't want to get into the complex technical details here, as I've already covered those in several past articles here, here and here.

But what you actually need to do is simple:  Contact your website host and tell them to enable "SSL" on your website.  This should be free.

If your website host isn't able to do it, or they want to charge you for it, then it's time to move your site to a new website hosting company.

If you're not sure if your site is secure or not, then please click the button below:  We've built a small tool that will check your website and let you know if you need to do anything.

Happy creating!

Sincerely,

I already have a site with FASO. The message says to contact my provider to take action on this matter.
Thanks

Just contact support and they can get you squared away.

I contacted my web host and was told that I could not have a mobile version of my website and ssl. I would have to cancel the mobile site and just have the regular version which would not work as well on mobile devices. Also, there is a charge for this service. I used their web builder. Do you have any thoughts or advice? Thanks for your help.

@sue - yes, switch to a different web host. In 2018 it makes no sense to have to choose between mobile and ssl and it's untenable to charge for SSL as Free ssl certificates are now available. If you're interested sned us a message on Facebook at http://facebook.com/fasosites and we can offer you an insane deal to migrate your site to faso. Most other major web hosts now support SSL at no additional charge.
